diamonds.

we were christened, somewhat literally, last night and this morning into the world of parenting.

while changing eli in the wee hours of midnight, i was presented with a cool golden shower of sterile baby urine. had i known this was happening, i would have intervened sooner (it was dark, i was sleepy). however, it wasn't until a growing spot on my chest just below the left shoulder became cold and wet, that i noticed eli trying to water the plant.

back at the ranch...

we're home now.

somehow, we were able to hightail it out of the hospital with a living being that shares our dna and vaguely resembles one or both of us. all without amber alerts, arrests, or some such excitement.

we're just sitting here admiring the little mush that now inhabits 20-percent of our home, and 65-percent of our sleep.

all those who'd like to drop-off any spare quiches, baked goods, or miscellaneous vegetarian comfort foods, please feel free to do so. meals on wheels style. our gratitude will forever shower you in online photo galleries and, for some of you, future play dates or arranged marriages (you know who you are).

hello, eli gray.

he's here.

after an intense 7 hours of laboring at home...
a 15-minute walk to the hospital...
and an hour and a half of bearing down...
eli gray culler decided to join our little party.

so, all of you whom hedged your bets on a boy can call your bookie now to cash in.
